1) FOOTBALL STADIUM NEAR KANKARIA

An impulse of a button transforms outdoor stadium to an indoor showground — flat in six minutes. As football fans walk out of the venue after watching a game, school children steadily stream in for their annual function.

Amdavadis are all set to get one of its kind of a multi-purpose stadium with a capacity of 30,000 neighboring Kankaria Lake in Maninagar. With a project worth ₹ 250-crore, the stadium is being advanced by Trans-Stadia, technology partners of UK-based StadiArena, on the lines of Wembley Stadium.

Perceived by stadiologist Paul Fletcher, a specialized footballer who has turned Europe’s leading stadium specialist, the project will be uncovered all through the Swarnim Gujarat festivities to mark Gujarat’s 50th anniversary. It will be put up with Fletcher’s universally patented technology that adapts an outdoor stadium into an indoor field within minutes.

The project will occupy around 10 acres of land just on the outer edge of Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s Maninagar Assembly constituency and will be an added masterpiece for him, together with the renovated Kankaria lake complex which he revealed last year after expenditure of ₹ 30 crore.

CEO of TransStadi, Udit Sheth said, “While India has other indoor stadia, including large ones in Bangalore and New Delhi, the Ahmedabad project would be the first StadiArena — a stadium that adapts into an indoor showground”. The project would be completed in 18 months after construction is started.

The stadium’s main use will be for hockey and football, but it will also stock an auditorium, exhibition area, conference rooms, table tennis courts and restaurants.

Company officials state the stadium will be designed to sport around 10 sports.

TransStadia with the state government, has signed a memorandum of understanding. “The final plot allotment will end shortly,” said a senior official in the chief minister’s office.
